In recent years, with the vigorous development of China’s economy, the projects undertaken by the Government also increased. So the amount of investments for the projects are also growing rapidly. In China’s current government audit, to some extent many of the auditing work is still costly and inefficient. It’s necessary to carry out the evaluation of the results of government audit for lessons learned, put forward effective improvement methods and measures for government audit work. By the discussing of the Audit report results of China’s Central Audit Office and Local Audit Institutions from2003to2008, we can find out that if you want to improve our government’s audit performance, carry out the audit work of government well, it’s inevitable need to focus on the important role of local government audit institutions. This paper presents a comprehensive audit evaluation method of local government, give recommendations for improvement based on a comprehensive audit of local government performance evaluation results obtained. What’s more, it’s also optimize the allocation of resources of the local government audit work, save money and improve the operating efficiency of government audit purposes.Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign research methods as well as summarize the characteristics of government auditing performance, this paper identified7indicators to measure local government audit performance, using factor analysis to study on local government audit performance. This method can calculate the performance score of local government audit and sort results by a certain method. Distinguish between the overall development of all the local government performance and the level of the pros and cons of different regions. Provide a basis for putting forward recommendations to improve the management of local government audit.
