With the development of global economy, multinational corporations often need toadjust the speed of resource integration over the world. OEM industry is an epitome forresource integration. The OEM companies often hold different specialty and workclosely to make sure products delivered to customer in time. In1990’s, OEM companiesin Taiwan produced90%of notebooks all over the world. After2000, they moved tomainland and made great development, especially in Changjiang and Zhujiang deltazones. However, after the economic crisis in2008, under global economic depression,top brand notebook companies incurred heavy losses and the notebook OEM industrywas hurt considerably from the global recession.The Quality Master Dr. Juran claimed that―21stcentury as the century of quality‖.As Smart phone, PAD, smart TV, etc. provide more choices to customer, the electronicindustry enters the PC+times. How to react to new situations with fierce competitionbecomes vital for all enterprises. OEM companies compete on quality, focusing onproduct quality, service quality, and process quality. They use new technologies, newprocesses, and new materials to improve efficiency when new products are developedthrough technology innovations. Total Quality Management has been implemented toimprove product and service quality in order to satisfy customers. Only in this way canthey remain succeed in the long run.Firstly, this thesis uses PEST and SWOT models to analyze the internal andexternal challenges of Quanta Computer ltd. Then the operations strategy of QuantaComputer ltd. is analyzed by using the SWOT model, i.e., the multi-business strategy.After that, I analyze the quality management status in Quanta Computer ltd and identifythe mismatch between company strategy and its quality strategy, that is, focusing toomuch on production cost reduction, rather than R&D.When further analyzing and setting the goal of quality as the operations strategyfor Quanta Computer ltd., the second part of this thesis focuses on implementation of the quality strategy from different perspectives. I elaborate many facets of qualitystrategy in such a complicated and dynamic system.Finally, I put forward six aspects of recommendations to guarantee the success ofquality strategy, including the use of computer control system, cultivating qualityculture, etc. Conclusion remarks are followed.
