With the future expansion of globalization, the economic ties amongcountries are further strengthened. The status of transportation service trade hasbecome increasingly prominent. However for our country, transportation importand export volume rapidly grows while the deficits don’t shrink but grow.Although our country’s transportation service trade deficits proportion has beenreduced, it is still the largest deficit department in our country’s service tradedepartment. The situation is not only commensurate with our country’s status asone of the world’s largest economies, but also contrary to the basic nationalconditions that human resources plays potential service competitive advantage.And also reflects there are some problems in transportation service tradedevelopment.Therefore, with the phenomenon of transportation service trade continueddeficit.the paper began by drawing on the theoretical results of the service tradeand economic growth to built a theoretical framework for transportation service trade and economic growth.Then from the factors those affect economic growth the paper started theanalysis of mechanism that transportation service trade promoted economicgrowth. The results showed the transportation services exports promotedeconomic growth through the promotion of employment,capital accumulationand resource optimization; and imports by technological progress; creatingeffective demand; promoting division of labor and economies of scale.Further with above theory and econometric analysis software,the paper builteconometric model between transportation services trade and economicgrowth(GDP) for the quantitative analysis. The empirical results showedtransportation service trade and economic growth had a long-term equilibriumrelationship and causality.Finally, based on qualitative and quantitative analysis, the paper proposedwe should establish an efficient integrated transportation network, broaden thefinancing channels of transportation sector, and strengthen infrastructure construction and so on to provide for workable ideas for the sustained andhealthy development of transportation services trade.
