Research On Business Process Improvement Of S Life Insurance Company

After nearly30years of development, China Life Insurance Industry begain totake shape. In2011the total premium income of reached1.43trillion RMB, theinsurance company total assets reached5.9trillion RMB. Most of the domestic lifeinsurance companies have changed their operating model gradually from pursuing thescale of the company to the core value management and operation profit. Lifeinsurance company business process construction is more and more concerned by thecompany’s operating management team. The concept of getting value from businessprocess, adding value and reducing the cost by improving the process has beengradually accepted by the management team. At the mean time, process improvementand improvement results depend on the IT system finally realize has been became thecommon practices of the life insurance industry.S Life Insurance Company has been set up for10years, It is still a developmentcompany. Most of the problems in it’s main business processes are common issues inthe industry. In this study, the author took the process improvement project of S LifeInsurance Company as an example, put forward the process improvement andoptimization suggestion through the methods of discovering problems, analyzingproblems and solving problems, summarized the result founded by S Life InsuranceCompany business process improvement project team, according to the general modelof life insurance company function. Then the study transfered the IT systemconstruction related issues founded in the project to IT system planning needs. Finally,the study made the schedule for implementing the project, provided the suggestionsfor performance assessing and engaging methods. The study also indicated theproblems which have overrun this project scope, including the issues in companystrategy, corporate culture and HR construction and other aspects of the existingproblems, and all these problems were influence factors to process improvementproject. In summary and outlook, this article summarized the success and limitation ofS Llife Insurance Company process improvement project.
