Abstract/Summary:
The custom of invoking the soul is a universal phenomenon of folk culture; it issupernatural, unwritten, and popular in the folk medical concept and behavior.Invoking the soul seems to be simple, but has deep symbolic significance; it reflects thecultural psychology and folk beliefs in man’s mind. This custom closes to people’s dailylife; it is not recorded on paper, nor crowned as something presentable. However, it isnot flooded by the culture or swallowed by the vicissitudes of the times. It sows over inthe life soil and gives off a breath of warm, passing the health and the pursuit of thegood life. It’s not just a civil medical, but a spiritual sustenance, representing a strongthe ultimate spirit of humane care. This thesis analyzes the functional mechanisms andsignificance of the existence about invoking the soul for children in Liaodong region andillustrates people’s potential cultural psychology and naive beliefs through literaturecollection, field research, psychological analysis and comparative research methods.This thesis is divided into five parts:In chapter One,it writes the examples and basic characteristics of invoking the soulfor children in Liaodong folk place. From a historical perspective on the geographicaland cultural customs prevalent in the Liaodong region received shock because forresolution.In chapter Two,it discusses the roots of invoking the soul for children in Liaodongfolk place, that is the soul of faith in man’s mind. In practice, people show both thepsychological respect and fear to the soul; in terms of the method, they use bothexpulsion and the priest which show the multiple and complex binary opposition betweenhuman being and the soul. The inherent power of the inheritance is the folk beliefs of the populationand the pursuit of health.In chapter Four,it interprets the typical core symbol in invoking the soul for children in Liaodong folk place based on the semiotic theory of structuralism. Inpractice,strict procedures,policies of the ritual and fixed location are a complete set ofthe symbolic system and strict symbol system in forms of static. Through the “deepdescription” of the cultural phenomenon, it interprets the real meaning of symbol andconnotation so that to understand the cultural phenomenon of essence.In chapte Five, it focuses on explaining the important medical function and culturefunction about invoking the soul for children in Liaodong folk place. It analyzes theceremony of this custom that based on our ancient therapy theory, Modern psychologyabout the awareness of unconscious consolidation theory, structure theory. anddiscusses the native medical methods. Medicinal material resources are rich in Liaoningarea, they are applied to the treatment of invoking the soul for children by brilliantpeople, and they have accumulated a collection of shock therapy such as massage,pinch acupuncture point in long-term practice.
