Recently, economics globalization has been developed deeply and China has already joined in WTO. China automotive industry has grew up faster than before, more and more global company build their plant in China. It has cross-cultural team members in one program. These team members may have different mindset and work ways due to they come from different countries. It will cause communication obstacles during program management. These problems could impact program timing, cost and delivery, even cause program failed.The subject invested in this paper was MD global development program and used the theory of program communication management and cross-cultural management in the paper. By analyzing identify stakeholders, plan communication, distribute information, manage stakeholders expectation, report performance management process to find problems, the author finds the root cause for these problems in program communication management and cross-cultural management, raise improvement action plan. Program manager try to let team members know each other more clearly though language, culture training and team building. Program manager uses the tools such as statement of work, global program responsibility matrix, program communication plan, virtual team cross-culture management framework to minimize cultural conflicts and improve communication efficiency.If we use right management ways in program management, the cultures difference in cross-cultural program team can be a useful resource and bring advantages to the company and program instead of becoming obstacles. Hopefully, the improvement idea not only can be used in MD programs, but also can provide the reference for similar programs in automotive industry.
