Railway industry, no matter in developed countries or developing countries, hasbecome an important field of state-owned economy.The railway industry enterpriseperformance ascension naturally become an important part of economic development.In recent years, improvement of performance has been paid attention by the academicand practical circles, especially in developed countries. Advance and reform of thetheory and practice of constantly emerging, some scholars put forward ownership modeselection. Some scholars, however, insisted that the ownership pattern choice is not theinfluence factors of performance improvement. Since1970s western main developedcountries continuously put the wave of privatization, and high-profile reform.On theother hand, the rapid development of the French Bahn and strong support to the mode ofstate-owned business play an important role. Can be found, either from the perspectiveof the theory of domestic academia thinking or from abroad on the effect of the practiceof bold, railway sector ownership options are still no a definite decision. The influencefactors of railway industry enterprise performance improvement is also analyzed in thispart,Based on the above thinking, and combining the railway industry in developedcountries,the status quo of corporate ownership patterns are more diverse. This papertries to find a solution through the combination of theory and empirical analysis methods to the problems discussed above. In this paper, the empirical model is buildedby the datas of companies which owns different ownership in developed countries todiscuss the relationship between the ownership and performance improvement.This article main body part is divided into six parts:The first chapter, introduction, the reason for the selected topic is mainlyintroduced in this paper, as well as the research ideas, research methods, researchframework, innovation and deficiency.Chapter two is about the ownership choice theory of natural monopoly industries.Mainly from the perspective of the natural monopoly industries, choices related to theownership theory is combed and summarized. This part also analyses the maincharacteristics, reasons for selection and applied background of different ownership.The third chapter, describes the developed country railway industry characteristicsand the present situation. Respectively from railroad industry of natural monopoly,competitive, and government regulation from three aspects obtains, to the railwayindustry in developed countries enterprise ownership mode selection characteristicssummarized at present. In addition, for the railway industry in developed countriessummed up the present situation and problems of corporate ownership patterns, mainlyadopts three operation modes: state-owned, private, and mixed ownership.Chapter iv, the empirical part, panel estimation is used, the selection of maindeveloped countries enterprises of different ownership railway in recent15years a partusing the unbalanced panel data of the introduction of system of ownership and theregional virtual variables, build the empirical model. Mining is studied on therelationship between the ownership and performance in the developed countries, and theempirical results for further analysisThe fifth chapter, social responsibility of the railway industry in developedcountries is discussed. As a public infrastructure services industry, it must take consideration of the social responsibility, in addition to consider simple operatingincome, net profit and employee benefits and other economic indicators. So this chaptermainly studies how railway industry in developed countries practice corporate socialresponsibility.The last part is the conclusion part. The results of this paper is combed in this part.
