The Research Of Manufacturing Industry Upgrading In The Perspective Of Global Production Network

Deepening of economic globalization, with the international free flow of labor, capital,technology and other elements, the international division of labor had the new change. Theglobal production network formed gradually dominated by multinational companies.Global production network is a network of division of work. It deploys production at eachstage throughout the world. The formation of it provides opportunity and conditions fordeveloping countries to join the emerging industry. At the same time, it may have certaineffect on the development of relevant industries and the optimization of the structure indeveloping countries. As a representative of developing countries, China activelyparticipating in the global production networks, and actively undertaking the internationaltransfer will help it promote the industrial structure adjustment. The adjustment can thoughusing foreign investment, research resources and technology, knowledge spillover ofmultinational companies. Manufacturing industry as an important part of the real economy,its development has a crucial influence to the national economy. Manufacturing upgradingof industrial structure is the key issues facing economic and social rapid development.This article revolves around "the influence of global production network to themanufacturing industry upgrading". This article analyzed from the influence factors ofindustrial upgrading, the transmission mechanism of participating in the global productionnetwork which promote the manufacturing upgrading, the theoretical model and theempirical test that based on Shandong peninsula manufacturing base. Results show thatparticipation in global production network and using the spillover effects of foreign directinvestment have a positive affection towards the upgrading of manufacturing industry. Atthe same time, the internal factors such as domestic research have important influence onthe structure upgrading of manufacturing. It should not be ignored. The end of the articleput forward some suggestions on the development of Shandong peninsula manufacturingindustry according to the empirical research conclusions.
