After2006, China’s financial industry, in the process of gradually fully open, experienced the U.S. Sub-prime mortgage crisis2008. In the post-crisis era, with the rapid development of China’s economy, banking competition has went into the white-hot state. Large commercial banks and Shareholding commercial banks did well. The small and medium-sized commercial banks, as the "third tier", with urban commercial banks in particular has been seeking the way out.The major problems city commercial banks are facing is limited area, small scale, lack of innovation and so on. These "internal injuries" have gradually reduced its survival and development space. At the same time, city commercial banks, at the critical moment, have strong demands becoming bigger and stronger. Therefore, at present, many city commercial banks began to change its name, or to open different branches, some of the stronger city commercial banks have already, or are in the process of capital expansion, and going public. Among them, the cross-regional business becomes the key to city commercial banks seeking for development breakthrough. This paper researches into this subject. The article discusses on city commercial bank’s cross-regional business from six aspects.In the first chapter, the selected topic background, research ideas, research methods and thesis structure is mainly introduced, and domestic and foreign researches on city commercial banks’cross-regional business are synthetically elaborated.In the second chapter, the paper summed up China’s course of development of city commercial banks, city commercial banks also explained our cross-regional business status quo.In the third chapter, the paper analysis of the City firm to achieve cross-regional business momentum causes and achieve cross-regional business prerequisites needed.In the fourth chapter, Analysis of China’s city commercial banks operating in the realization of the process of inter-regional problems faced. In the fifth chapter, the paper mainly through the United States, Japan and other developed countries, small and medium commercial banks operating cross-regional description of the status quo, and further draw these small commercial banks in the developed countries to achieve cross-regional operation in the process of enlightenment.In the sixth chapter, the paper by the foregoing analysis, the chapter gives the area of City firms operate across the respective proposals and measures.On the research methods, the paper takes the specification analysis and empirical analysis. Specification research part mainly collects the cases and modes of the cross-regional business at present in China. Adopting normative analysis, it summarizes modes of cross-regional business, in order to provide reference for the city commercial banks’ cross-regional business. The empirical part of the analysis is a stake in the corporate governance structure and the relationship between the city commercial banks operating performance, shows that the more concentrated the ownership, the worse the performance.
