Since the reform and opening up in1978, China’s economy has made remarkable achievements, and rate of economic growth has been at average9%. China’s economy to maintain rapid growth at the same time, the income of urban and rural residents has occurred the profound changes that the income of the residents showed uneven growth, and that moderate and reasonable income distance from the early stages of reform to the current income distance continues to expand, this income non-balanced growth continued in the future for a long period of time. It has seriously affected the healthy and stable development of China’s macro-economic development and social harmony. Therefore, in the reality of our economic environment, studying the relationship between China’s residents income distance and economic growth is very necessary.Firstly, the paper comb between income distance and economic growth "inverted U" theory and its development, mainly from the Kuznets’ inverted-U hypothesis, regional economic development not balance of "inverted-U" hypothesis,Lewis---fee Jinghan---Ranis two-sector economy model, as well as regional economic dual economy structure theory to be addressed. The theory for the further analysis the relationships between our country resident income distance and economic growth in the article have provided valuable research foundation. Then, based on the above theory of the "inverted U-shaped",along with different stages of economic development, urban and rural residents’ income distance in China is studied to present the timing characteristics, which show that the early reform in rural economic system reform, the residents income distance tend to reduce inequality situation, and that as the economic reform, the emphasis shifting from rural to urban, residents’ income distance began expanding trend. This is below the analysis of residents’ income distance in China economic effect to provide a basis in fact.Next, this article analyzes the process of our economic growth in the economic effect of income distance, discussing mainly from two aspects:on the one hand, reasonable income distance have positive economic effect on economic growth, mainly from the material capital accumulation effect, consumer demand effect, resource allocation optimization effect to analyze; on the other hand, widening income distance have negative economic effect on economic growth, respectively, from the suppression effect of physical capital investment, human capital accumulation, residents’ consumption scale and structure, as well as social harmony and stability and so on aspects. Finally, based on the residents’ income distance and economic growth in China shows the reality basis, and by using the SVAR model empirical analysis on the relationship between resident’s income distance and economic growth, the results show that the residents income distance and economic growth, investment demand and consumption demand assumes the characteristics of the "inverted U", further supporting the theoretical basis of this article research. At the same time, through panel data model, this paper also empirical analyzes the regional income distance and economic growth has "inverted U" characteristics, and from the long-term point of view, income distance will narrow the gap in the future period, will improve the economic balanced growth in the long term, this equilibrium relationship exists is possible, but need a long time could be realized.
