Entrepreneurial activity, as a global issue of concern, can promote innovation,and promote national and regions’ ecomomic development. China’s entrepreneurialactivity is increasingly active, playing an important role in economic growth.However, the growth disadvantage resulted by new entreprise’s new natural seriouslyhindered start-up entreprise’s survival and growth. Studies have found thatentrepreneurial network and entrepreneurial learning are key elements to promote thegrowth of new enterprises. Entrepreneurial network containing a large number of tacitknowledge and information can affect new entreprise’s constructive process, alsopromoting the growth of new enterprise. And the contents and methods difference ofdifferent enterprises’ interpretation, transformation and utilization (entrepreneuriallearning) for that informations will affect new enterprises to overcome and make upfor its growth disadvantage, which in turn leads to growth performance difference.However, current researches failed to make a depth discussion about utilizingentrepreneurial network through entrepreneurial learning and balancing learning waysto make a better promotion of start-up enterprise growth, so failed to be good guidesfor entrepreneurship practice.On the basis of related research, according to Penrose’s classic enterprise growthanalysis paradigm, this study based on social network theory and organizationallearning theory, from the process two entrepreneurial network types’(formalentrepreneurial network and informal entrepreneurial network) influence on newventure growth performance to discuss the role of different types of entrepreneurialnetwork and different types of entrepreneurial learning’s (entrepreneurial cognitivelearning and entrepreneurial method learning) role in this process, analysis the effectdifference in different entrepreneurial learning ways (explorative learning andexploitative learning) at the same time, constructing theoretical model and makingempirical test. On the basis of theoretical analysis, through questionnaire developmentand demonstration, we issued questionnaire in Yangtze River delta region which has developed entrepreneurial activity and received244valid questionnaires. Usingmultiple regression analysis and structural equation model (SEM) to test thehypotheses, we found that: formal entrepreneurial network and informalentrepreneurial network have positive influence on new venture growth performance;entrepreneurial cognitive learning and entrepreneurial method learning also havepositive influence on new venture growth performance; informal entrepreneurialnetwork’s influence on new venture growth performance can fully be completed byentrepreneurial learning; formal entrepreneurial network’s influence on new venturegrowth performance is partly be finished through entrepreneurial learning; explorativelearning is more helpful for entrepreneurial learning to impact new venture growthperformance positively.The research results cleared the influence entrepreneurial network andentrepreneurial learning on new venture growth performance, revealed the “weak ties”advantage theory and “strong ties” advantage theory’s applicability in deepentrepreneurial network study, the importance of entrepreneurial cognitive learning,and the comparative advantage of explorative learning, made up for the lack of relatedresearch, and had certain contribution for organizational ambidexterity theorydevelopment. Although this study has sampling area and other limitations, the overallresults of this research have practical significance for entrepreneurship theory andentrepreneurship activity development.
