Gaoqiao-Xinghe Area of Southern Jingbian Gas Field is an important replacement area and strategic reserve area of natural gas development which belong to Changqing Oilfield. But the level of exploration and development is low at present. There is not a clear understanding of the development potential of the area. In order to deepen the understanding of the reservoir distribution in this region, and find out the potential for development in the area, and expand the scale of southern Jingbian Gasfield development, It is necessary to conduct comprehensive research with combination of logging and dynamic data and static data to from geological data, study the reservoir distribution deeply, evaluate the development potential of the area, predict the distribution of favorable reservoir, provide geological basis for the further development of local gas reservoir.This paper takes modern sedimentary reservoir geological theory as a guide, connects closely with the practical problems faced in production in the study area, adopts the idea of a combination of macro and micro, a combination of point and surface, a combination of static and dynamic with the use of a large number of core, logging, well log, indoor test, gas testing, and other data, and carries out the analysis of sedimentary facies, reservoir rock characteristics and diagenesis for two main reservoir interval in Gaoqiao-Xinghe Area Paleozoic, i.e., the8th Member of Shihezi Formation and the2nd Member of Shanxi Formation. This paper reveals the spatial distribution of sedimentary facies and porosity evolution history of the two main reservoir interval, discusses the main geological factors that control reservoir development, carries out reservoir evaluation. Through the analysis of reservoir characteristics the distribution range and development rules of the Upper Paleozoic sandstone reservoirs in the study area which are the8th Member of Shihezi Formation and the2nd Member of Shanxi Formation, this paper gets a clearer understanding of reservoir pore types and reservoir development horizon of the two main reservoir interval in the study area, thus prefers favorable reservoir segment and favorable area for development, lays a good foundation for the development of Southern Jingbian Gasfield, and this has important guiding significance for further development of gas reservoirs.
