Visibility, which used to describe the atmospheric visibility, is an importantfactor of meteorological observation and the visibility observation plays animportant role in transportation, aerospace and military fields. The method ofmeasuring visibility using digital photographs has been applied and popularizedbecause of it closing to the observation mode of human eye, convenient operationand reliable monitoring results. For the principle and shortage of the existingmonitoring methods, the thesis studied some issues of the digital photographsvisibility monitoring.The main contents of this thesis are included as below:1. The thesis studied the daytime visibility algorithm: completed theobservations of the daytime visibility by the dual differential luminance methodand put forward improvement. Realized a new daytime visibility algorithm basedon the knowledge of dark channel prior. Test and verify the three algorithm onexperiment platform of the daytime visibility.2. The thesis studied division and design for light source of the nighttimevisibility: in the process of the nighttime visibility monitoring, based on regionalgradient adaptive watershed segmentation employed implementing dual lightsprocessing method to improve the accuracy of lights processing. Put to use a designthat a beam of light is divided into two parts, and then respectively passed into theintegrating sphere to satisfy the light stability. Test and verify it on experimentplatform of the nighttime visibility.3. The thesis taked the image texture information, which obtained by camera,as the judging conditions of switching algorithm between daytime and nighttime.Based on the system of digital photographs visibility monitoring, validate thedesign in the natural environment.
