As the coordinator of business management of enterprises, the combination oflogistics service and the contractor of logistics outsourcing, the third-party logisticshave become the major service model of modern logistics. On the strength of itsadvantages in scale operating, professionalism, individualized service andprofessional talents, the third-party logistics will be an effective saver of investmentand cost, and reduce inventory as well as risks while providing added-value services.It also enables the cargo owner enterprises to focus on their core business, enhancecore competitive advantage, boost performance in an all-rounded way, thus becomingan important business partner in their contest for competitiveness.In the new century, the competition among enterprises is, to a large extent, onefor supply chain. The third-party enterprises puts greater emphasis on thecomplementary nature between different joints along the supply chain and theirinterdependence with respect to interests. Therefore, it becomes an inevitable trend forthe third-party logistics corporations to establish a long-term friendly cooperationwith those who need logistics.From the perspective of game theory and the principle-agent theory, this thesisconducts a systematic analysis of the cooperation between the third-party logisticscorporations and those who demand logistics. For starters, it analyzes the motivationfor and the forming processes of the cooperation in the third-party logistics, andsummarizes the two cooperation models in such cooperation, that is, logisticssupply-demand alliance and the alliance of logistics enterprises. The author then doesa systematic research in the contract design in the cooperation in the third-partylogistics and the risks taken with it, suggests correspondent preventions and designsanother contract as an incentive and supervisor to guard against various risks. In thenext step, the thesis explores innovations in the cooperation in the third-party logistics,and advises being innovative in stimulating the cooperation between enterprises fromvarying aspects and corresponding incentives. In the final analysis, the author makes asummary of the thesis, expounds on the research result of this subject and looksforward to further study done on this basis.
