Developed in the past two decades, Item Response Theory (IRT) is a relatively per-fect theory applied to psychological and educational tests. Based on the item responsetheory, this thesis studies the ability parameter estimation in the Logistic model. Thepresent article explores several common IRT-based estimation methods of ability andanalyses advantages and disadvantages of each method and its suitable application range. The maximum likelihood estimation and Bayesian estimation method are important ap-proach of parameter estimation in the item response theory. The paper utilizes a three-parameter Logistic model as the basic model for theresearch, it discusses the application strategies of the ability parameter of the theoreticmodel.
