A Taxonomic Study On Tribe Meloini From China(Coleoptera:Meloidae)

Meloini is one tribe of the Meloidae. It is a kind of the important medical insect. This dissertation focuses on the systematic study of the tribe Mylabrini from China, which is divided into two parts:the general account and the classificatory account. Illustrations and habitus are appended in total.In the general account, the research history of Meloini in our country and the world is introduced. Opinions of different authors over the classification of the tribe are discussed.In the classificatory account,33species in two genera from China are described in detail as the classification system of Bologna. The morphological structures of each genus, subgenus and species are provided, synonyms and citations of each taxon are listed in chronological order. The available data on the geographical distribution is given. The tribes, genera and species of each genus are presented.Subgeneric status of Meloe (Meloe) longipennis Fairmaire is proposed.Five new species are established:Meloe (Meloe) concaviferus sp. nov., Meloe (Meloe) kyphus sp. nov., Meloe (Meloe) shii sp. nov., Meloe (Meloe) sphaenoideus sp. nov. and Meloe (Meloe) subtrigonatus sp. nov.One subgenus is reported for the first time from the country:Meloegonius Reitter,1911.Three species is reported for the first time from the country:Meloe coarctatus Motschulsky,1858, Meloe menoko Kono,1936and Meloe (Meloegonius) cicatricosus Leach,1815.Type specimens and specimens of the new recorded are deposited in the Ningxia University Museum.
