Yan’an City is located in the Loess Plateau, with a wide and thick loess covering, cloudsravines and deep river, where has a frequent the geological disasters. The landslides, collapsesand other geological disasters caused huge losses to the local people’s lives and property. In this paper, the author analyzed the geological disaster prone evaluation factors basedon the detailed investigation of geological disasters results in the county of Yan’an and for thepurpose of evaluation on geological disasters prone.based on the information theory, theauthor used ID3algorithm to make data mining for evaluation factors, and builded decisiontree to evaluate the importance of the ion factors and tentatively made a susceptibility zoning. The author used Delphi method to assignment for constructing matrix based on AHP method, and superimposed and stratified the attribute values of the evaluation factors based on GIS.Combined with the past experience of zoning, the author made a evaluate on the geologicaldisaster-prone of Yan’an City and compared the results obtained in two different ways toverify the ID3algorithm and construct evaluation of geological disaster-prone tree ofrationality. The main contents in this paper are as follows:(1)From the natural geographical and geological environmental background of Yan’an tostart, the paper expounds the basic types distribution and hazard reasons of geologicaldisasters, eventually obtains the controlling factors of geological disasters in Yan’an, such as:topography, geological structure, lithology, meteorology, hydrology, vegetation distributionand human engineering activities.(2)The paper uses the ID3algorithm to construct decision trees, assessed the importanceof the evaluation factors to, and tentatively made a divisions for geological disaster-pronenature in Yan’an City.(3)The author made a screening and quantification for the main factors and used theDelphi method for pairwise comparisons to determine the weights of each factor andjudgment matrix.(4) The author quantified the various factors according to dividing evaluation grid, andestablished a model which can show the attributes and weights of each evaluation index tocalculate disaster-prone index for each evaluation grid cell through this model, and uses theanalysis capabilities of DTM and GIS to make a certain degree of division for geological disaster-prone nature and compare with the results of former approach to verifyreasonableness of the ID3algorithm for the susceptibility evaluation is reasonable.(5) By susceptibility zoning, range with a different susceptibility of geological disastersin Yan’an has been divided. Based on the specific circumstances of Yan’an City, and theresults of a detailed investigation of geological disasters, the author proposed the projectmanagement, the relocate and avoidance, and the biological control methods.
