Since magnetoelectroelastic (ME) structures possess strong magnetoelectroelasticcoupling, they have been widely applied in many high-tech fields, especially in thosefields of sensing, smart control, ultrasonics, non-destructive testing, smart materials andstructures. It is of great significance to study the dynamic properties of ME composites. In this research, issues of interface waves propagating between two transverselyisotropic magnetoelectric half-spaces were investigated in detail. Firstly, we establish thegoverning equations of interface waves propagating in each ME half-space. The generalsolutions are obtained in each portion, respectively. Then two ME half spaces areintegrated through applying the elastic contact conditions and ME boundary conditions onthe interface of ME bimaterials. The problem of solving out interfacial waves is discussedfor different interface elastic contact conditions and different ME boundary conditions.Elastic contact includes bonding contact and sliding contact, while ME boundaryconditions include25combinations of electricity and magnetism conditions. The secularequation for velocity of interfacial waves is finally obtained. Using the materialcoefficients, we conduct a lot calculation. Both wave-velocity and polarization vector areobtained. It is found that there are two types of the interfacial waves, i.e., the generalizedRayleigh wave and the generalized B-G waves. Numerical results show the existence anduniqueness of interfacial waves in two ME half-spaces, which is useful in design andapplications of magnetoelectroelastic (ME) structures.
