The Qaidam Basin is famous for potash production base, origin of salts mineralsin China’s major, salts mineral resources exploration in the past mainly forQuaternary shallow salt mines, deep Quaternary and Tertiary level of salts andminerals is extremely low, its resources and mineralization geological features ispoorly understood. In recent years, with geological exploration work especially largeinvestigative resources evaluation are implementing, Quaternary deep and Tertiarymineral salts have conducted a preliminary exploratory assessment. Writer underoutdoor production needs, collecting drilling oil and water test and on the basis ofgeophysical well logging from Qinghai petroleum,combined with the history ofQaidam Basin evolution and recent years the achievement of minerals prospecting inTertiary and Quaternary deep brines, summarizes the Anticline structure in Tertiaryand the metallogenic characteristics and ore-searching prospect in Quaternaryhollows in Western Qaidam Basin. Article systematically expounded ore-forminggeological condition of2Anticline in Tertiary and1synclinal depression ofQuaternary in Western Qaidam Basin, study on the water-rich area and layer ofAnticline structure and Syncline depression,while delineation of favourable sectors indeep brines mine, pointed out the direction for further work on prospecting deepbrines.
