The magnetostrictive material is an important functional materials. Using suchproperties of the material, some useful devices and function devices can bemanufactured. Computer simulation researching of soft magnetostrictive materialscan provide important theoretical basis for the performance and application of thismaterial. So it has theoretical academic value and practical application of guidingsignificance that do finite element analysis for the soft magnetic magnetostrictivematerial.This paper discusses the performance, development and application ofmagnetostrictive materials. The two-dimensional analytical model was establishedusing the finite element software ANSYS. The1J79soft magnetic alloy bar in amagnetic field was simulated. The value of the force and the energy loss value of thematerial were obtained. Then force values results were load to the both ends of thebars to do magnetic-structure coupling analysis. And the displacement values wereacquired from the results. The influencing factors of magnetostrictive properties ofbars, which sequentially changing the frequency and the strength values of themagnetic field and different structural design, was investigated. And the energy lossof the bars was analysied.Get the lines of magnetic force and magnetic flux density distribution of the1J79soft magnetic alloy bar which has the skin effect with the increase of theexternal magnetic field frequency. The Bar’s stress value, energy dissipation anddisplacement values rises with the increase of the frequency and the strength ofmagnetic field; Increases with the increase of the rod diameter; Decreases with theincrease of the rod-coil spacing. To do the log P(f)-log f curve for values of theenergy loss of the bar, which has excellent linearity. The rod diameter and magnetic field intensity values that all have influence on its slope change.Through this study, the influences of the magnetic field setting and the structuredesign for magnetostrictive bars were analysied. And the energy loss of the bars wasstudied at the same time. The study results have a reference value to themagnetostrictive device design and the project.
