When the flight speed of aircraft is particularly fast in the atmosphere, the accuracy of the system identifying or probing targets will be declined, because of the aircraft optical hood in turbulent flow and laminar flow field. The results of output target imaging become blurring, jittering and moving. It is especially important to reduce the aero-optical effects on optical system of high-speed aircraft. There are many adverse effect factors, such as the flight speed of aircraft, height, the shape of optical head covering, the size of the optical window. But the optimal selection for the wavelength of the optical system can eliminate the interference in some extent. This paper analyzes the impact of aero-optical effects for high-speed aircraft optical system, and researches the relationship between flight Mach number, MTF, Strehl ratio, and wavelength based on Aero-optical theory. The optimal wavelength or band can be solved, optical designers are guided to choose the operating wavelength of the optical system of high-speed aircraft, thereby the imaging quality of the optical system has been improved.
