The geographical analysis method is commonly used in the research and application offlood damage assessment in recent years, and is becoming the main direction of flood lossassessment in the future. This paper analyzes the main factors influencing the accuracyevaluation of flood losses, such as submerged depth, areas and volumes, the spatial model ofsocial and economic data and the loss ratio of different land use types. It goes deep into theflood damage assessment by using the gradual way of points to total. First, it analyzes the dataof area of the flooding, the submerged depth and volume that used in flood loss assessment;Secondly, it also builds the spatial model using socioeconomic data of various land use typesand relevant spatial data; lastly, study the evaluation methods of flood losses by regarding thegotten data as basis, and the losses rate of land-use type in flood area which divided by levelas mainline.Improve the precision of DEM with methods of interpolation and build curve about thewater level, the area and the volume. In order to improve the precision of the curve, wecorrect the curve with historical data, and then get high-precision data about the flood area, the flood depth and the volume to achieve real-time simulation of dynamic flood in the way ofseed-spread algorithm which provide reliable data basis for flood damage assessment.By using RS technical methods-Classification extraction method and GIS methods-vectorization method implements spatial distribution and size of various land-use types ofmeasurements, analyze the characteristics of different types of land use, study the density ofspatial distribution between different land use types. The spatial distribution ofSocio-economic spatial data combining spatial distribution density function complete spacemodel of socio-economic data.Which provide another reliable data base for flood damageassessment. This article caught the point that different types of flood damage assessment needsdifferent accuracy and timeliness of loss rate accuracy, and make flood data andsocio-economic space data a basis, then proposed geographical analysis method like vectoroverlay analysis and samples regression analysis; In accordance with flood damage rate andtimeliness, this article implements two ways to get flood loss rate: one is a loss rate controlwhich formed by a number of factors to assess flood damage; another gets the loss rate bysampling methods, which ensures the accuracy of the loss rate. Finally, achieves a statisticalof flood damage in varieties land use types. Finally as the end of paper I treat Detention basin of Yubei Area as the experiment to demonstrate its feasibility. The geographical analysis of the flood damage assessmentmethods was used in this research and then a flood detention basin management and analysissystem was built. The data verified the accuracy of geographic analysis methods through theflood damage assessment.
