In the modern industrial manufacturing, CAD/CAM has been used widely, Numerical control processing is an important part of the CAD/CAM, and tool path planning is the key to CNC machining technology. On the basis of a number of literatures, this paper mainly studied of five-axis cutter location path with flat-end milling cutter.Research of algorithm for five-axis cutter location path with flat-end milling cutter based on equal-parametric line. On equal-parametric line, In order to ensure the consistency of inside-tolerance and outside-tolerance, this paper used equal error method based on curvature, errors of the approximation lines have been discrete essentially the same.On the foundation of the previous work, researched of algorithm for five-axis cutter location path with flat-end milling cutter based on projective method. First surface projected onto the plane, get effective processing area, planning driving-point path plan in the effective processing area. This paper focuses on direction-parallel method on the plane, at last, driving-point path on the plane projected onto the surface, get the cutter-contact point path. In order to reduce processing errors, gave the precision control strategy from driving-point on plane to cutter-contact point on surface, ensure the precision requirement of inside-tolerance and outside-tolerance.According to the characteristics of the five-axis NC machining, analysis of curvature interference and tool tail interference, and eliminated interference by the algorithm, generated interference-free cutter location data and the cutter axis vector at last.This paper calculate the cutter path information by MATLAB, through a combination display of cutter path and tool axis,and machining simulation by VERICUT, verified the feasibility of the algorithm in this paper.
