A variety of leakage accidents would happen in the oil exploitation, storage, and transp processes. And these accidents will result in serious soil pollution, and pose threats to environment and human health. Particularly, soil contaminated with PAHs has receiv increasing attention since such contamination is very difficulty to remediate. The objective this thesis research is to investigate effective methods for cleaning up PAHs contaminated s using ultrasound and surfactant. A series of solubilization tests, adsorption tests desorption tests were conducted in this research. The adsorption tests implied t phenanthrene adsorption onto soils could be well described by linear adsorption models. experimental study was then presented to investigate the effect of ultrasound and surfactant the removal of PAHs from contaminated soil, while phenanthrene was selected as the sti PAHs. The phenanthrene contaminated soil was treated by an ultrasonic setup in laboratory. Three important variables including sonication time, pH of washing solution washing flow rate were taken into account. The results showed that the ultrasonic treatm was effective on phenanthrene removal in soil. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) indica that sonication time and soil washing flow rate showed significant effect (P≤0.05) phenanthrene removal in soil. And increasing the sonication time and the soil washing fl rate can improve the removal rate in varying degrees. For further treatment with ultrasoi and surfactant, the removal rate of phenanthrene was higher than that with only surfact treatment. When the surfactant concentration was12.5mmol/L, after further ultraso processing, the removal rates of phenanthrene were73.5%and76.3%respectively; howe the removal rates of phenanthrene was68.2%with surfactant treatment alone.
