Anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) with high pore density, uniform bore diameter, Channelsparallel to each other and its orientation is consistent has become one of ideal template infabrication of nanomaterials. With the emergetment of ultrathin porous anodic aluminum,it hasbeen used as template in the systhesis of0D nanostructures,which further using of AAOmembranes. In this paper we report the methods to fabricate AAO membrane in differentconditions. ZnO nanotubes have been synthesized by injecting sol-gel into the pores of ultrathinAAO membrane.Cu nanowire arrays have been fabricated by electrochemical depositionmethods using AAO membrane as template.Adopting preprocessed high purity (99.999%) alumina as anode and nickel piece as cathole,AAO menbrance has been fabrication in oxalic acid,sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid,theirapprearance was characterizeed by scanning electron microscopy. The oxide barrier layer at thebottom of the pore can be romved and the pores of AAO film can be enlarged in phosphoric acid(5wt%): barrier layer has been dislodged completely and the pores were expanded from about50nm to70nm,the templates were respectively etched for90min and120min. The thickness ofsamples was controlled by the time of second anodization process: ultrathin AAO film (thethickness of film is less than1μm) can be obtained by a simple method,only the secondanodization time is in15min.ZnO nanotubes have been synthesized by injecting sol-gel into the pores of the ultrathinAAO template, its length and diameter was equal to those of membrance about1μm and70nmrespectively, and the rampart of nanotubes were about10nm.Finally,Cu nanowires arrays werefabricated using electrochemical deposition on anodized Al templates and Cu/Cu2O nanowireshave also been fabricated during different voltage of deposition.
