In the deep hole processing, as the boring bar has a relatively large length-diameterratio, chatter is easy to occur in the machining process which will effect the precision andefficiency during the process. It’s significant to study damping boring bar for solving theproblem of process system stiffness. Due to this problem, this paper is aimed to design theboring bar with2-dof dynamic vibration absorber on the basis of the theory ofmulti-degree of freedom dynamic vibration, then studies the properties of the boring bar intheory and emulation. Detailed content as follows:(1) The configuration designing of damping boring bar. It includes the certainty ofscheme and the design of composite boring bar, the2-dof dynamic vibration absorber aswell as the head of boring bar.(2) Building on mechanical model and mathematical model of the boring bar with2-dof dynamic vibration absorber. It includes calculating the equivalent stiffness andequivalent mass of the boring bar, and establishing the theory optimization modelaccording to this expression. Finally, the theoretical analysis of conventionally dynamicalvibration absorber boring bar and composite structural dynamical vibration absorberboring bar is finished.(3) Performance analysis and comparison of the conventionally dynamical vibrationabsorber boring bar, composite structural dynamical vibration absorber boring bar, theboring bar with2-dof dynamic vibration absorber.The virtual prototype mode of dampingboring bar is established by using jointly finite element software ANSYS and multi-bodydynamics software ADAMS. The optimal simulation parameters of the three dampingboring bar are ascertained. The static performance, response characteristics in frequencydomain and time domain of the three damping boring bar are analyzed and compared. Andthe main system damping coefficient and the damping block inner hole diameter onamplitude-frequency response characteristics of the boring bar is further studied.The research shows that the first natural frequency of the boring bar with2-dofdynamic vibration absorber is slightly lower than the composite structural dynamical vibration absorber boring bar, but its amplitude frequency response characteristics, timedomain response characteristics and static performance are superior to the conventionallydynamical vibration absorber boring bar and composite structural dynamical vibrationabsorber boring bar. So it is more applicable to the processing requirements of largelength-diameter ratio.
