With the growing of coal production and consumption in China, coal causesserious pollution to the environment and does great harm to the human health.Gasification is the core technology of clean and efficient use of coal, and the focusof energy research field. Gasifier is the core equipment of the coal gasificationtechnology. Now, there exits some difficulties in the development of gasifier, inwhich the burning of the nozzle and the water wall is the main problem impactingthe efficiency of the gasifier. In order to solver the difficulties, dry pulverized coalcyclone gasification technology was proposed which can also improve theperformance of gasification.The two-phase flow in various parameters was studied in this paper and got theoptimal structural parameters which can provide a reference and a basis for futurestudy of cyclone gasifier design.Firstly, the model structure and operation parameters of a single furnacecapacity of700t/d cyclone gasifier cold modeling was studied based on coldgas-solid modeling method. Then a cold test stand was designed and constructeddepending on the model structure and operation parameters above. In order toimprove the accuracy of the experiments, the measurement method (particle imagevelocimetry) was adjusted.This paper focuses on gas-solid two-phase flow distribution in differentincident positions and incident angles of the secondary air, and obtained the bestrange. The impact of various cutting angles on the gas-solid flow characteristics atdifferent axial cross-sections in the central and side wall region of the furnace hasbeen analyzed in the research of different secondary air cutaways. The best cuttingangles range was obtained. In the range of best cutting angles, the rotating flowfield was much better at different axial cross-sections and it’s conducive to thegas-solid mixing in the radial direction. In the study of the different incidentpositions of the secondary air, analyze the gas-solid flow characteristics in thecentral regions and side wall regions of the different experimental conditions, byconsidering the mixture of a secondary air, gas-solid and the extent of the protectionof nozzle, obtained the better range of the incident positions of the secondary. Thebest position range was obtained.
