RTV silicone rubber has been widely used in all kinds of fields,but it is easy to flame. And it will restrict its use. The novel flameretardant PEPA had been synthesized successfully by phosphorousoxychloride and pentaerythritol in this paper. And it was used insilicone rubber with MCA and the flame retardant performance ofsilicone composites was studied. Besides, the DK4and EG’ssynergetic effect on flame retardant were investigated. And DK4andEG’s effect on thermal property and mechanical/electronicperformance were also studied. Through the results of LOI andUL-94test, PEPA and MCA enhanced the flame retardancy of RTVsilicone rubber successfully. TGA result revealed the addition ofPEPA/MCA slowed down the degradation rate of silicone rubber inhigh temperature and improved the high thermal stability of RTV SR.Cone result showed that PEPA had synergetic effect with MCA onthe mass lose, heat release rate and smoke production rate and so on.Besides, both DK4and EG could improve the thermal stability ofRTV silicone rubber composites. The addition of DK4couldimprove the mechanical performance of RTV-SR composite whilethe addition of EG decreased the volume resistivity and improvedthe antistatic performance of RTV-SR composite.
