The development of construction industry is very rapid in recent years. As an important construction steel, the demand of hot rolled ribbed steel bars is much bigger and the higher requirements on the precision of the hot rolled ribbed steel bar are put forward. Straightening is an important part in the steel production, the shape of straightening roll plays a key role in the straightening quality of steel bar, therefore, it is of great significance on the study of straightening roll shape. Based on hot rolled ribbed steel bar straightening roller as the research object, a more precise steel geometric model is established in this paper, based on the enveloping meshing theory, a new roller shape curve equation of the straightening roller is deduced, and the superiority of the new shape is proved, the new roll shape is applied to the parameterized modeling of straightening roller, and the processing of straightening roll is realized.This paper analyzes the characteristics of several kinds of steel straightening scheme. Based on the geometric feature and supply characteristics of hot rolled ribbed bar, the straightening scheme is determined. The roll system configuration forms are studied and the selecting method of the straightening roller parameter design is analyzed.The conjugate motion relation model between the steel bar and straightening roller is established. The coordinate transformation matrix between the straightening roll and the steel bar is deduced by using space coordinate transformation method. The existence condition of surface enveloping surface is studied theoretically. Regarding the cross section of steel as ellipsoid, the existence formula of the rebar surface enveloping surface is deduced. On the basis of the above, the equation of the contact line and the straightening roll shape curve is derived.The iterative solution method is applied to solve the equation of the straightening roll shape curve and the effects of straightening roller design parameters on the roll shape is analyzed.The relationship of the contact angle and contact line length between the steel bar and straightening roller is analyzed. The evaluation standard of the straightening quality is established. The iterative calculation method of contact line length is proposed. Compared the new roller shape with the traditional roller shape, different specification steel bar corresponding to the contact line length of the two kinds straightening roller shape is calculated.After analyzing the requirements of the straightening roller parametric design system, the model of system function is established. Based on the parametric design principle of SolidWorks API, parametric model of the straightening roller is established and people can get access to the system database by using Visual Basic language. Two-dimensional figure from the roller model is imported to Mastercam, realizing the simulation of roller processing, and generating the NC processing code.
