With the development of science, the application of materials had changedfrom the traditional metal materials, ceramic materials gradually to the compositematerials. Light sandwich structure in composite material is very importantmembers for its high specific strength, high specific modulus, and reducing thenoise, absorbing energy and some other outstanding performance. The shipcomposite materials are the research background of this paper, and the research ofthe hybrid fiber reinforced foam sandwich structure is main content. In this paper,the hybrid fiber reinforced laminated plates and the foamed aluminum are two mainclues to the study.The method of foam’s study:Firstly, this paper uses finite element software (ABAQUS) and usersubroutines V-UMAT to simulate the compression performance of foam material.According to the experiment result to chooses appropriate damage model of foammaterials, and then apply the damage model to calculate the tensile and shearperformance of foams. Secondly, to get geometry model of the foams based onmicroscopic CT scanning technology, and then put the mechanical properties andthe boundary conditions etc applied to the scanned geometric model to research themechanics properties. Both of theses ways can obtain the stress-strain curve andabsorbing energy parameters that match the results of experimental well.Hybrid fiber reinforced laminates research methods:For the research of the hybrid fiber laminated plates mainly consider theinfluence for fatigue performance due to the ‘mixture effect’ of the laminated plate.First of all, finite element software ABAQUS is applied to simulate the quasi statictensile of the carbon fiber, glass fiber and hybrid fiber laminates with differentcarbon fiber content, then applying the simulating result of tensile strength andstress distribution with calculated by ABAQUS to simulate the fatigue performance.Secondly, using finite element analysis software named MSC. FATIGUE toanalysis the fatigue performances of the laminates which are discussed. The S-Ncurve that is measured when stress ratio is0.1and the sine load that has a stressratio is-1, the magnitude is15%and30%of the static tensile are assigned tolaminated plates. In this paper we can find the different fatigue performance of thelaminated plates by numerical calculate, and the influence of ‘mixture effect’ on thefatigue performance of the hybrid fiber laminated plates.
