Isobutene is the raw material for preparing butyl rubber, polyisobutylene,acrylonitrile, methyl tertiary butyl ether and some other chemical products; so itsdemand is growing rapidlyand the dehydrogenation of isobutane is becoming themain process for preparing isobutene. However, the process of dehydrogenation ofisobutane is still in the laboratory stage in China now. In the present thesis, theindustrial sidetrack process for isobutene preparation by dehydrogenation ofisobutane was reviewed in detail, as well as the industrial pilot test for the sidetrackexperiment in kiloton scale was summarized.The new dehydrogenation catalyst was applied in the process fordehydrogenation of isobutene for isobutene. The test plan for industrial sidelineprocess was introduced in detail and the key points for the sideline technology wereput forward. The valuable data was obtained in the industrial sideline test, whichimproved that the new hydrogenation catalyst was in the leading level in domesticadvanced level and reached the same level compared to international catalysts. Theprocess parameters were also obtained in sideline dehydrogenation of isobutene forisobutene production. The effects of the temperature, molar ratio of hydrogen tohydrocarbon, and space velocity on the isobutene yield and selectivity, and theisobutane conversion rate were studied and determined, which would be helpful to theheat balance of the system, improvement of the isobutene yield and reduce inproduction costs.Through industrial sideline test, the key technology parameters for thedehydrogenation of isobutane were obtained. All the data obtained were analyzed andsummarized as well as compared with the laboratory data. The technical conditionsand the important practice experience for the industrial pilot were gained whichprovides a solid theoretical foundation and practical experience for the industrialproduction in100,100-ton scale.
