Digital printing disseminates digital information, uses digital technology as the core andhas the feature of print-on-demand. After years of development, digital printing can meet therequirements of industrial production, digital printing has become one of the printing industrydirection of development and the hot topic. Digital printing is in rapid development, however, itstill has some problem, such as hard to carry out digital printing business, difficult to maintaininformation, low degree of automation, the problem of the low customer loyalty and so on.Web-to-print, is the best solution to solve the problem of the development of digital printing. Itmeans that customer log in to the web page of printing companies or operators port, by the stepsof designing printed content, upload files, ordering online, turning the printing needs into a setof data information produced directly by a single printing enterprise through the standardizationprocess, and finally the product was distributed via a courier company or post office to thecustomer. This paper research mainly on system modeling to the web-to-print platform, includingfuctional modeling, data flow modeling and architecture modeling. And also the paper study ondata exchange specification of the platform. The content of this paper include the followings:(1) analyze functional modules of web to print platform: on the basis of understanding ofweb to print, combining with market research on the needs and business processes, summed theconstruction of the platform;(2) build function model for web to print platform: according to requirements analysis, using UML modeling language to establish functional model for the system, using UML usecase diagrams to create static function model while UML sequence diagram to create dynamicfunction model;(3) build data flow model for web to print platform: using DFD to establish the data flowmodel for web to print platform based on the needs analysis as well as the functional;(4)design the open architecture: designing component and distributed architectureframework for web-to-print platform;(5) design the data exchange specification: design a set of XML Schema as data exchangespecification of web to print platform;(6)implement the prototype system of web to print platform: on the basis of the aboveresearch content, using J2EE programming language to realize the prototype system. The innovation points of this paper include:(1) use object-oriented analysis method andstructured analysis method at the same time to establish the appropriate model from multipleperspectives, which can help to realize the prototype system more efficiently;(2) for the firsttime, using open architecture technology to design and implement the platform, which leads toa low degree of loose coupling, interoperability, ease of integration and easy to expand.(3)using the XML Schema to rule the exchange data of the platform, which can provide theoreticalbasis for the research of web to print platform. The results of this paper include:(1) web to print platform prototype system;(2) a set offunction model of the platform;(3) a set of data flow model of the platform;(4) a set of openarchitecture;(4) a CSCD paper.
