In the high water-cut stage, the emphasis and difficulty of oilfield exploitation turn to rediscover and exploit remaining oil. at present, there are many methods to study the formation and distribution of remaining oil, including Development Geology method, Reservoir Engineering method, Logging method, Numerical Simulation method, High Resolution Sequence stratigraphy research method, and microcosmic Remaining oil method. but Any kind of remaining oil research techniques has its limitations, so In the remaining oil distribution prediction process, it can’t depend on a kind of method, this subject take fan zhong qu as an example focusing on how to comprehensive use of various methods to improve the prediction accuracy of remaining oil in high water-cut stage. In this paper, a series of approaches are discussed to study the remaining oil distribution during the high water cut stage in fanzhong block of FanJiaChuan oil field. In consideration of the low final recovery efficiency, low well pattern control probability and low oil recovery rate in the fanzhong block, according to the detailed reservoir geological study and development data, various methods are carried out to study the regular pattern of the remaining Oil and forecast the remaining oil in-place, then it is favorable for EOR.
