A convenient and rapid method for the detection of poisonous substance in the water, atmosphere and organisms which based on optical sensors becomes the hot topic in the filds of biochemistry, analytical chemistry and environmental science gradually. Compared with other methods, spectrofluorometry has played more and more important role for its advantages such as high selectivity, high sensitivity and ease of operation.Pyrazoline and their derivatives are well-known fluorescent compounds with high quantum yields and are widely used as whitening or brightening reagents, fluorescent probe, electroluminescent devices and pharmaceutical and chemical intermediate. However, there are some drawbacks with organic molecules for their practical application. For example, they can cause the testing system be polluted easily, and they can’t use repetitively. Moreover, it is difficult to make the organic molecules be an optical instrument and also to.combine with an optical instrument. These shortcomings of organic molecules make them restrict in auto-testing.In order to overcome the defects of organic molecules, we can introduce it to the main chain, the side chain or the chain end of polymers by various kinds of chemistry methods. In this paper, we attached the pyrazoline derivatives onto the chain end of polystyrene successfully to provide access to good fluorescence properties and the advantages of polymers; it has a wide application prospect in fluorescent sensors. In this paper, mainly the following aspects of work:(1).Designed and synthesized a fluorescent monomer containing pyrazoline moieties:2-(5-(anthracen-9-yl)-4-ethynyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazo-3-yl)pyridine(PPAPE);(2).We synthesized the bromine end-functional polystyrene and azide end-functional polystyrene with different degree of polymerization by Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP);(3).We attached the organic molecule onto the chain end of polymer by combine Click Chemistry and Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization, and we successfully obtained a kind of polymer which access to good blue fluorescence properties.(4).We investigate the fluorescence characteristics of the fluorescent monomer (PPAP-BTA) and the polymer when presence of metal cations and anions, The results suggest that this newly synthesized compound could work as a polymeric sensor responding to anions.
