Tailings pond as a major hazard, it’s safe to operation relate to the normal production ofthe mine, and the normal production and life of the people who live in tailings downstream.Tailing pond in our country more than12,600seats, and there are more than800seats ofmore than one million cubic meters of tailings. With the development of mining technology,the distance of the tailings pond and stope is getting closer and blasting operations arebecoming more frequent, so it’s should research determination of the safe operation of thetailing pond.In this paper, the test in stope and tailings of Longhua Xincun Mining Limited, thevibration generated by blasting operations. Through the test to get to13groups valid dataof vibration acceleration and33groups valid data of vibration velocities and achieve thephysical parameters of the tailings. Using regression analysis to process data obtained theSa Rodolfo J Ki formula in line with the actual situation of the test sites:To build the tailings model by the Geo-studio2007system software, the modelestablishes the actual size of the tailings pond. The vibration signal is input to themaximum acceleration signal. It’s0.0666g. And corresponding to the vibration velocity is3.401cm/s. The tailings pond will be divided into three conditions the normal tailings pond,the morbid tailings pond and dangerous tailings pond to analyze. The safely criterion oftailings pond is derived by changing the amplitude of the vibration signal: The tailingspond can sustain the maximum safety vibration acceleration is0.333g, and the vibrationvelocity is17.005cm/s. But should have a more than3times safety reserves, and in theprocess of blasting operations should control the intensity of blasting vibration make itgenerate intensity of vibration in the tailings pond less than0.111g, and the vibrationvelocity should be less than5.668cm/s.
