The crustal stress objectively exists in the earth’s crust and acts on the reservoir, which has a very important influence on the whole process of the reservoir development. It is one of the momentum of hydrocarbon migration and accumulation and the reservoir fracture, fault and structure formed under the action of crustal stress is one of the channels and places of oil and gas migration and accumulation. In the process of drilling, some aspects such as the borehole wall stability, the casing deformation and damage, the rational arrangement of oilfield development well pattern and the hydraulic fracturing optimization design are related to the size and direction of crustal stress. Therefore, the study of crustal stress has a very important practical significance in oil and gas exploration and development. This paper through a series of test and analysis such as the rock mechanics properties and crustal stress test, the thermal expansion coefficient test, the Biot parameters test, the profile of crustal stress analysis, and the analysis and discussion on the test results, according to the application of these test results the fracture pressure and the choice of the fracturing support agent are determined finally.
