Environmental pollution always heads the list of top global problems for the next50years. But, environmental issue has gone from bad to worse as the economicdevelopment. Air and water are necessary conditions for human beings. So, airpurification and sewage treatment arouse people’s wide concern. The air pollution ismainly due to the release of harmful gas after the burning of fuels, including SO2,CO2and so on. The water pollution is mainly due to the release of effluentscontaining chemical hazards from mills. Among them, the pollution of heavy metalsis great harm to human beings. To reduce pollution, various methods are adopted byresearchers. For example, removing sulfides in fuels is to reduce the release of SO2and using adsorbents to remove hazardous materials in effluents.Electrospinning technique supplies a simple and effective method for preparingnanofibrous membrane. Due to the larger specific surface, higher length-to-diameterratio and smaller pore, the nanofibrous membrane not only own large adsorption area,but also is easier to be modified to have special adsorption function. So, modifiedelectrospun nanofibrous membrane has promising in environmental application as aadsorbent.In my study, the nanofibrous membrane containing special functional group wasprepared based electrospinning. The prepared nanofibrous membrane ownedadsorption function for some chemical substances through surface modification.Then, the functionalized nanofibrous membrane was characterized and theadsorption property was studied.
