In today’s society, with the rapid development of city economy, populationgrowth, the life demand extreme expansion, construction site, heavy industry factorieseverywhere, motor vehicle ownership grow with each passing day, this let the surfacedust, the dust from the dust particles and other fine materials and become a part ofcity pollution, serious harm to human health. Surface dust particle size distributionand the content of heavy metals has attracted more and more domestic and foreignexperts, scholars and government departments concerned, the related research ondemand for health protection is also an urgent need to carry out surface dust pollutioneffect. Therefore, this paper takes Shenyang city as an example, in the five areas ofthe city selected residential, commercial, cultural and educational area, park, roadtraffic area, general six functions area as the sampling point, study of Shenyang citysurface dust particle size composition, heavy metal content and spatial distributioncharacteristics of atmospheric pollution, effect. And get the following results:(1) Shenyang city surface dust occupies the largest in mass fraction is less than75μm diameter level;(2) Each functional area in the administrative area of different particle sizedistribution is not the same, that the particle size distribution has great influence withthe actual environment, geographical location and the location around the;(3) The existence of certain differences of contents of heavy metals in surfacedust of different functional areas in Shenyang City, the content of heavy metals intraffic area is generally higher than that of other functional area, and prove that Pb, Zn,Cu and other heavy metals mainly from vehicle exhaust and wheel wear;(4) Zn and Cu, Cd, Pb in surface dust has significant correlation, the pollutionsource and pollution ways higher similarity;(5) Considering traffic and rainfall factor, Shenyang city surface dust on PM2.5,PM10, PM15, TSP four grade average contribution rates were2.37%,18.75%,22.52%,100%.
