PET material has a lot of advantages, for example high strength, excellent chemical resistance, excellent properties and outstanding wear resistance, so PET materials are widely used. However, PET material belongs to the melting of combustible material, they also have poor air permeability and poor anti-static ability. These shortcomings will limit PET’s application. Therefore, it is of great significance to improve the PET flame-retardant. But the existing flame retardants can’t satisfy the people’s requirements, it has become the hot spot to develop new flame retardants or research the new flame retardant methods to improve the flame retardancy of PET.Inorganic flame retardants are attracted much attention because of excellent performance, and the CNTs in nano flame retardant materials is one of the focuses of current research. Carbon microspheres (CMSs) and CNTs belong to branches of carbon nano-materials. At present the research is more about the thermal stability, electrode materials, catalyst carrier, the flame retardancy is still in a blank state. Therefore, on the time of validating the flame retardancy of CMSs, CMSs-PAn compound material were prepared which CMSs was used as carrier, then applied to PET fiber to improve the thermal stability and flame retardant properties of PET fiber in this topic.First, CMSs and MCMSs flame-ratardant PET masterbatch were prepared by using twin-screw extruder. Flame retardancy and mechanical properties of function materials and so on had carried on the key analysis. Second, surface modification reagents An and PAn were used to modify the surface of CMSs. Using chemical grafting method prepared CMSs-An composite material, at the same time by in situ oxidation polymerization prepared CMSs-PAn composites. The morphology of the samples were observed and the strueture of specimens were characterized. Preparation PET masterbatch by the twin-screw extruder, and the morphology, microstrueture, thermal properties, mechanical and electrical conductivity properties of CMSs-An/PET and CMSs-PAn/PET masterbatch were characterized. Through studying and diseussion, the main conclusions were draw as follows:(1) CMSs is a kind of very good flame retardant. When the content of CMSs in masterbatch is1%, the LOI value of CMSs/PET can reach34%.(2) Surface modification reagents An was used to modify the surface of CMSs, the flame retardancy and compatibility of CMSs-An/PET were improved, but did not achieve ideal requirement.(3) The best conditions of preparing CMSs-PAn was that the temperature was10℃, the reaction time was4h, the solution pH was1~2, the dosage of CMSs was lg,the An and (NH4)2S2O8concentration was1.5mol/L.(4) The mechanical properties and flame retardant performance of CMSs-PAn/PET composite were improved obviously. The tensile strength was39.76MPa, the LOI value was36%. The interfacial compatibility of CMSs PAn and PET substrate were improved and the interfacial action were enhanced.
