As important narrow band gap semiconductor materials, sulfides have been widely used in photo-catalysis, sensing, magnetism, and solar energy saving battery, and other fields due to their peculiar physical and chemical properties. Thus there exists great theoretical and realistic importance in controlling the size and morphology of these sulfides to tune the their chemical and physical properties..In this dissertation, using a facile hydrothermal method, we successfully prepared several sulfides with different morphology and size, such as tri-radiate Cu2S nano-plates, Cu9S5nanowires, octahedral MnS, and rod-like PbS. Furthermore, the influences of concentration, reaction temperature, and precursors on the morphology have been discussed.Usingcopper chloride and thiourea as precursors, we have successfully prepared tri-radiate Cu2S nano-plates without surfactants at160℃for12hours. As-prepared Cu2S nano-crystalline were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectrum (XPS). The results indicate that the Cu2S nano-crystallines possess tri-radiate nano-plate morphology. Under the irradiation of ultraviolet, using H2O2as oxidizer, as-prepared Cu2S can effectively catalyze the photo degradation97%of with30minutes. Replacing sulfur as precursor, and changing the ratio of reaction reagent, we prepared Cu9S5nanowires, which show effective photocatalytic degradation ability either. At nearly same reaction condiction as preparing Cu2S, we have also prepared octahedral MnS and rod-like PbS.
