As investment cast is widely used in aerospace and some commodity,thedemand of the quality becomes higher in investment casting.Wax moldmanufacturing is a key process of investment casting production.,the high qualityof patten wax is the precondition of the casting manufacturing.The formula ofwax,wax mould and moulding process are the principal factors that affects thequality of wax patten.Now mid temperature patten wax—Silica Sol has been thegeneral production in investment casting.So in this paper mid temper wax is theresearch object and studied by the formula of wax,performance tests and theprocess parameters of the pattern wax. The main contents and conclusions are asfollows:First,at the base of reading reference the paper introduces the raw materials ofmid temperature wax,the existing formulas,the available performance tests andprocess parameters.By studying and summarizing,a formula of temperature patternwax which is based on paraffin wax and Polymerization Rosin and modified byEVA and Montan wax has been studied in this paper.Secend,based on the understanding of the performance of the raw materials,9groups of comparative experiments are decided in the study by changing the ratioof four kinds of materials. By many groups and performance tests such as meltingpoint, viocosity, bending strength and shrinkage rate, identifing a group of bestpattern material ratio.when the paraffin wax50%, polymerization rosin40%,montan wax5%, EVA5%,the mid temperature pattern wax of optimal quality,isthe most suitable for size accuracy requirements of high investment castingproduction.Finally, This paper take a certain high-powered motor as research object, bythe selection of composite wax pattern and mold filling methods, designing thepour system and making the technological parameter, make design of the selectedwork piece.Then this paper analysis the injection molding process by carried outfilling, packing and cooling numerical simulation study based on Moldflow-basedsoftware, and conducts orthogonal testing with technologic parameters. This studyshows that the wax quality can be improved based on Moldflow-based software to optimize gating system and dimension, shape and distribution of the cooling system.The effects of injection-wax temperatures, mold temperatures, fill time as well aspressing time on mold quality by using orthogonal test. The orthogonal tests resultsshow that when injection-wax pressure was5MPa, injection-wax temperature was30℃, the nominal wax-filled temperature was7s and pressure maintaining timewas25s, the shrinkage tendency of wax mold was smallest and formabilityproperties is best.
