The biomimetic study of calcium carbonate is the most widespread in biomineralization. Not only it is widely distributed in organisms and natural minerals and the system is more simple, but also many kinds of biominerals with ordered structures are vital to the organisms. In this dissertation, we studied the transformation of amorphous calcium in the presence of organic polymer, the effect of template to the formation, growth and transformation of amorphous calcium carbonate. These studies contribute to understanding the principle of transformation of amorphous phase and preparing the biomimetic materials. The main contents of this dissertation are as follows:Chapter1:Introduction of biomineralization and progress of calcium carbonate in biomineralization.Chapter2:In this chapter we use FTIR to investigate the transformation of amorphous calcium carbonate(ACC) in the presence of organic phosphonic acids. We adopt the relationship of area ratio of infrared absorption peak and time to characterize the transformation process of amorphous calcium carbonate. Compared to organic carboxylic acid, organic sulfonic acid, EDTMP(Ethylene diamine tetra(methylenephosphonic acid)) is found that can better stabilize ACC, inhibit its transformation.Chapter3:In this chapter we study the biomimetic mineralization of calcium carbonate on yeast cell in the presence of additives. We developed one method to encapsulate and protect the yeast cell with calcium carbonate:with ACC stabilized by EDTMP.Chapter4:We study the deposition and crystallization of amorphous calcium carbonate on the inorganic surface modified by different polyelectrolytes. The templates have some effects on the deposition of ACC.Chapter5:Conclusions.
