Polyoxymethylene (POM) is an excellent overall performance engineeringplastics, it has high mechanical properties, such as specific strength and specificrigidity close to the metal, the tensile strength, flexural strength, creep resistanceand fatigue resistance are excellent, repeated resistance shocks is excellen, frictioncoefficient is small, and it own excellent self-lubricating, good dimensional stability,good surface gloss and so on.But POM is flammable. It is degradable easily underthe high temperature and acidic conditions, withing a sharp decline in molecularweight, and resulting in the decline of the mechanical properties of POM, whichincreased the difficulty of modified reagents used,and greatly influenced POMdevelopment applications.The enhance toughening formula and the performance of polyoxymethylenewere studied,glass fibers were used as a reinforcing filler,the appropriatecompatibilizing agent, stabilizer, and toughener were chosen to modifiypolyoxymethylene,so that polyoxymethylene has a greatly improved in thepull-tensile strength, flexural strength and notched impact strength and other aspectsof performance.The results showed that KT-2has the best effectcompatibilization,MCA has a good stabilizing effect notched impactperformance,KT-28A has the best enhance effect.When the glass fiber content is17%, KT-2content is5%, MCA content is5%and KT-28A content is9%,thetoughening tensile strength of paraformaldehyde enhanced is113.67MPa, the flexuralstrength is119.79MPa and notched impact strength8.85KJ/m2,and thecomprehensive mechanical properties of POM is best.
