The booming construction industry, more widespread use of the tower crane causesendless accidents. The late starting of safety study, limited funds invested, immaturetechnology, and lack of standardized management made the tower crane safetyhazardous. Therefore, the designation of system hardware terminal for the tower cranewas introduced in this master dissertation at point of safety research.The system is based on TI single-chip MSP430, including acquisition sensor, LCDdisplay, data storage, data transmission in wireless, alarm system and the authenticationof the operator in this safety monitoring system. Horizontal displacement, verticaldisplacement, lifting and torque, rotation degree, tilt angle, on-site wind speedparameters through sensors during the tower crane runtime, display and savingparameters were included in this system. Zigbee wireless module is used to configureparameter and transfer sensors data between tower cranes. GPRS wireless network isutilized to upload the data to management center for online data analysis andmanagement. Any overload and dangerous operation causes voice alarm functionality.The setting of the fingerprint acquisition is convenient for management. The design ofthe system was described in this dissertation, and completed the hardware circuitcommissioning of this system.At the same time, an anti-lightning and surge protection circuit has also speciallybeen designed in this system to adapt to the complex environmental andelectromagnetic interference effect of the construction site. To make the system workstably and reliably, it is also done experimental testing and simulation for the problemof temperature drift and electromagnetic compatibility. Temperature compensation likehardware compensation circuit and software temperature compensation program weredesigned to solve the existing temperature drift problems. Through experiments, thefeasibility of the compensation was verified and improved the system temperature driftproblem. As for electromagnetic interference problems, analysis of the electromagneticinterference inside of system has been done though experiments and simulations, meansof grounding, filtering and shielding from the hardware and design of digital signal filtering from software were used to improve the electromagnetic compatibility withinthe system, making the system worked more stable and reliable. To meet the systemperformance requirements of tower crane monitoring systems market, electromagneticcompatibility test of pulse test and the surge of anti-group testing has also been done.This terminal has already been used in many companies.
