The ‘S’-shaped testing specimen is useful for evaluating the accuracy of five-axisCNC machine tool. It is put forward by AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Industrial (Group)CO.LTD. There surface contours has the conversion characteristics between convexand concave, integrated into the thin feature. It has been widely recognized andpromoted by other domestic aviation manufacturers. Based on the modeling spacecontour error, a practical surface error processing, analyzing and visualizationtechniques are listed in this thesis. An evaluation software is also developed for testingthe accuracy of machine tool based on user’s actual demand. The main contents areshown as below:1.An efficient curve, surface reconstruction method based on the contour featuresof ‘S’-shaped testing specimen is put forward for analyzing the error between thecutting and the theoretical model.2.Matlab is used to process the point cloud data and the contour error is displayedwith the both chromatography-grayscale and approximate high-line. A web impressionmethod for contour error visualization based on gif with dynamic format has beenproposed.3. An evaluation system for testing the accuracy of machine tool based on surfacereconstruction and error visualization is developed by Matlab-C#combinedprogramming. The point cloud data which comes from the coordinate measuringmachine (CMM) is used to assess the accuracy of CNC machine tool. It is able tocalculate the proportion of the main factors that damage the accuracy of the machine,as well as to display the contour error of the ‘S’-shaped testing specimen intuitively.The accuracy evaluation system provides a reference to the maintenance of theprocessing performance of CNC machining tool.
