Screening process is a very complicated stochastic process. Screening theory nowadays are based on the method of mathematical statistics and screening test, but due to cost reasons and differences between theoretical model and the practical model, this method has not achieved the very high price effect. Since1979, discrete element method has rapidly developed and partial scholars already achieved some success by simulate the continuous particulate matter using discrete element method. Because of discrete element method in solving multi particle motion analysis need a large amount of calculation, with the help of computers to particle collision numerical virtual prototype technology in large-scale particle system how to fully tap the calculation ability of the calculator and the computational efficiency is the most important problem to be solved. Computing unified device architecture(CUDA) technology ensure the feasibility of large-scale parallel data processing, to save computational time cost has very obvious significance. In this paper the different algorithms for computing efficiency based on the CUDA technology on the screening of discrete element model for numerical simulation was discussed. By compiling the timer running timer sufficient contrast algorithm based on CUDA and the common serial algorithm, showing that the feasibility of discrete element method carried out in GPU and different technology parameters were compared to the results. The main work is as follows:Compare the advantages and disadvantages of soft ball model and the hard-sphere model under the condition, identified the soft ball model as particle collision model;Elaborated CUDA technology and in which how to optimize, which provides a theoretical basis for parallel algorithm for discrete element method; Discrete element in the search, collision of different algorithms are compared, determinate the optimal serial algorithm;Using CUD A technology which has characteristics of high degree of parallelism, multithreading, powerful computing capability and high memory bandwidth and discrete element method, it is convenience to simulate the movement of massive particles in the process of screening. On the basis of previous works, the feasible way of discrete element numerical calculation methods can be found and efficient simulation of particle movement could be designed in order to provide a basis for the future transformation.
