This paper is based on the analysis of the expressway construction condition at home and abroad, in allusion to problems of water and soil conservation in Yanan-Jingbian expressway construction, expounding the background of the research, research content and method, and then analyse the natural characteristics and subgrade construction problems of the area traversed by Yanan-Jingbian expressway, the soil and water loss situation in Yanan-Jingbian expressway construction, soft soil foundation treatment in the expressway, the characteristics of the slope stability in the loess area and the problem of highway roadbed, puts forward the soil and water conservation measures in in Yanan-Jingbian expressway construction. The main results are as follows:1. Through analysing the effect of the Yanan-Jingbian expressway construction on the line economic, the technical problems need to solve and the problem of soil and water conservation, this paper systematic expounds the problems of water and soil conservation in expressway construction.2. Summarizes the natural characteristics and subgrade construction problems of the area traversed by Yanan-Jingbian expressway, the soil and water loss situation in Yanan-Jingbian expressway construction, such as these areas located in the loess plateau, gully slope steep, broken terrain, vegetation coverage is low, frequent drought and rainstorm happens, prone to landslides, rock collapse, mud-rock flow, etc. soil erosion problems.3. Analyses the characteristics of soil erosion in highway construction and the main factors lead to soil erosion, including natural factors, construction factors, operational factors, etc.4. Analyses the soft soil foundation treatment and factors of loess slope stability and meet the conditions in the expressway construction condition, and through the soil mechanical properties index and shearing test of soil, this paper discusses the rationality of actual loess ladder type high speed cutting. 5. Through analysis on characteristics of loess subgrade engineering area, sums up the common hazards in loess area highway construction and the reasons, preliminary discuss effective measures for controlling soil and water loss in the highway design and construction, discuss the content and the method for prediction of soil erosion, the engineering measures, management measures and so on in Yanan-Jingbian expressway construction, then combine with the fact during road operation, illustrates the correctness and feasibility of these measures.
