Currently, the bolting is widely used in the railways, highways, tunnels, mining and geotechnical engineering. However, most of these projects bolts are buried in the formation or stratum, it has a great elusive, there is not have a good way to effectively detect the anchor quality now, the traditional methods are still used to normal circumstance. The traditional methods have some destructiveness which can be only used to large-scale anchoring quality detection sampling, which has a certain chance. There is a certain risk factor engineering sampling and testing is not the best choice. So, no-destructive testing methods are making up for the deficiencies of the traditional methods, but it still not have perfect test equipments because of the immaturity of the detection theories and field constraints. In the study of non-destructive testing methods, the stress wave and ultrasonic guided waves dominated place because ultrasonic guided waves have advantages of speed, wide range, long distance, and low cost. The article will focus on ultrasonic guided waves. A large number of numerical simulation and experimental study of ultrasonic guided wave technology is widely used in the detection of anchoring quality and lay a certain foundation on the basis of theoreticalThe research work is divided into the following aspects;(1) The survey about research status of ultrasonic guided waves are made in anchoring quality detection, especially for experimental research and numerical simulation.And its application prospects are described.(2) Bolting theory and the theory of ultrasonic guided wave propagation management are introduced.And a theoretical analysis of the guided wave propagation in anchor bolt are made.(3) Method of numerical simulation is used to simulate the ultrasonic guided wave propagation in different anchoring quality. The free bolt analog bandwidth of20KHz-3MHz and the anchor bolt bandwidth of20KHz-200KHz.And make some conclusions.(4) Two sets of experimental apparatus are used to study ultrasonic guided wave propagation in different anchoring quality bolt experimental, low-frequency experimental group velocity use the method of changing analysis,and high-frequency experiments use the method of averaging amplitude ratio and peak ratio analysis. The conclusion is proposed that the spectral analysis method used for anchoring quality higher frequency of guided wave inappropriate detection. (5) Numerical simulation results and experimental results were compared to draw some more satisfactory conclusion.
