Manganese ore and its deep processing products are widely used in various fields, especially in the steel industry. Our country has become the largest country of production, exprots and consumer of electrolytic manganese in the world. Manganese anode slime, containing40%~50%of manganese and plenty of lead, inevitably emerge following producting manganese. It is unable to be recycled by simple methods. Therefore the leaching is the best way. There is three parts to achieve comprehensive recyching of manganese anode slime:Leaching, production after impurity removal and recycling of Pb. In the leaching, reducing agent dosage, sulfuric acid dosage, leaching time and leaching temperature were contrasted by various reducing agents, considering all kinds of factors, then choosing iron powder from inorganic reducing agent and cornstalk from organic reducing agent serve as representative, their leaching rate are99.43%and97.01%respectively. On the part of impurity removal, it would remove Fe3+, Al3+and heavy metal. The lixivium reduced by cornstalk met the standards of electrolyte of Mn after impurity removal, this part of recovery is90.17%. The lixivium reduced by iron powder could removed Fe3+and Al3+after diluting2.5times, but it could not meet standards of electrolyte of Mn after impurity removal, and this part of recovery is92.39%. The lixivium reduced by iron powder could removed Fe3+and Al3+with two parts either, and it could meet standards of electrolyte of Mn, but this part of recovery is42.79%. Both of the lixivium reduced by cornstalk and iron powder can be made into manganese carbonate with recovery of90.57%and87.30%respectively, and lixivium reduced by iron powder could achieve manganese sulfate monohydrate with recovery of87.30%, but lixivium reduced by cornstalk not. In the recycling of Pb, using the method of leaching impurities obtain the lead concentrate which achieves product requirements. The grade and recovery of lead concentrate leached by cornstalk are60.79%and98.75%respectively, as well as59.38%and99.64%by iron powder.
