Shearer is an important mining equipment, its working environment is verycomplex and harsh, and its operational status has important influence in safety ofthe coal mine and economic benefits. So to ensure its efficient operation, highreliability and long service life, condition monitoring system is indispensable.SCADA system combined with IT technology, DCS and PLC industrial controltechnology in one, it is an effective means to monitor the equipment,control andschedule the production process.If we apply SCADA system to the operation ofshearer production, we can achieve the automatic monitoring of the the shearerwork process, reduce the burden on the operator. It plays an irreplaceable role toimprove the production efficiency.The issues of article is shearer production process.On the based of modulardesign concept, we used industrial control technology, features powerfulconfiguration software and fieldbus technology to design a monitor system.Thesystem is based on WinCC PC. It achieved many functions.Such as data collection,parameter adjustment, device control and signal alarm.It provided a friendly HMIinterface for industrial site.During the specific design process,we focus studying on the key issues of thelocal monitoring system, and propose solutions, including:(1) Combined with a shearer production process control requirements,comedup with the overall architecture of the monitoring system and the part of theimplementation.(2) For the traction motor speed range is not wide and the control accuracy isnot high,used direct torque control technology to achieve the traction motor speed,and the direct torque control system is built by MATLAB simulation.(3) To design the local monitoring system based on Simatic S7-300PLCandcomplete the hardware configuration and software design.(4) To design the monitor screen of Shearer production progress byWinCCsoftware, realized the operational control, status display, real-time alarmand archiving.And achieved the remote monitoring of the shearer running progressby configuration WinCC Web Navigator.(5) To realize the communication between the PLC and inverter based on the Profibus bus technology.
